A. Stewart O'Bannon, III

A. Stewart O'Bannon, III, was born in 1955 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. He grew up in Florence, graduating from Bradshaw High School (1973), the University of North Alabama (1976), and the Birmingham School of Law (1982).

Following his graduation, Mr. O'Bannon returned to Florence and joined his late father, A. Stewart O'Bannon, Jr., in the practice of law. He has practiced law for the past 28 years. In 1985, he and his father founded the present firm of O'Bannon & O'Bannon, L.L.C.

Mr. O'Bannon concentrates his practice in civil litigation, wills, estates, probate and trusts, and the representation of public boards, including the Florence-Lauderdale EMA-911 Board and the Florence Industrial Development Board.

Mr. O'Bannon has been married to Sally, a music teacher and director, for 33 years. They have two grown children. He is an active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, where he has held various positions of leadership. He is also a member of the Florence Exchange Club. In the past, he has worked with or provided pro bono services to The United Way, The Heart Fund, Habitat For Humanity and other non-profits. He has served on the Board of Directors for The Florence Exchange Club, Habitat For Humanity, and Rape Response. He has also served on the national Board of Directors for the Blue & Gray Education Society. He is active as a participant and supporter in local performing arts, including community theater and music. He has active interests in religion, history, and politics.
